Assalamualaikum semuaaaa...

wewewewe.. okay.. mood aku hari sangat lah waaahhhh... okay.. aku tak tahu lah kenapa macam bahagia semacam jeeerrrr even aku macam tak study sebab semalam pun aku baru baik mual-mual.. dan dari pagi tadi pun.. aku tak study except petang lah study sama-sama dengan Liza.. so bajet semua yang telah distudy petang tadi diserap sepenuhnya.. harap-harap lah

currently semua bas kat UM ni aku dah rasa.. hahhaha gedik jer kepoh macam tuh.. by the way.. esok last paper.. dan... aku dah tak tahu nak study apa.. and untuk teori aku langsung tak ingat apa.. lagipun siang tadi aku baca 2 page terus membuta +_+

tapi takpe.. backup plan.. mudah mudahan esok keluar soalan kira-kira senang lar nak bantai.. aku dah semangat nih nak main kaler aku yang 48 batang tuh hehehehe.. lagipun.. bukan aku sorang jer okayyy

Kursus ini membincangkan asas kimia kandungan sel pada peringkat atom, molekul dan makromolekul dari segi struktur dan peranannya di dalam sel. Enzim: fungsi katalis, jenis dan pengawalan keaktifan enzim. Biologi membran dan peranannya dalam proses pengangkutan diperkenalkan. Konsep tenaga dan hukum termodinamik dijelaskan. Fotosintesis memerangkap tenaga suria dan mengubah tenaga itu kepada tenaga kimia yang disimpan sebagai karbohidrat, protein dan lipid. Proses pengoksidaan anaerobik dan aerobik. Tumbesaran dan perkembangan sesuatu organisma merupakan hasil proses kehidupan. Kursus ini mengakhiri dengan perbincangan beberapa aspek tumbesaran dan perkembangan tumbuhan dan haiwan seperti morfogenesis, metamorfosis dan dormansi.

Kursus ini akan membincangkan struktur dan fungsi asas organel dan juga proses yang melibatkan mitosis dan meiosis. Ini akan diikuti dengan kefahaman tentang asas perwarisan mengikut hukum-hukum Mendel dan perhubungan diantara meiosis dan Teori Perwarisan Kromosom. Akhirnya, kursus ini akan membincangkan mengenai aspek asas genetik molekul iaitu struktur asas molekul DNA dan RNA, replikasi, transkripsi dan translasi. Kefahaman asas teknologi rekombinan DNA yang melibatkan pengenalan kepada enzim restriksi serta vektor-vektor pengklonan juga akan dibincangkan.

so berdasarkan post aku yang lalu (klik SINI), the 1st 4 subject tuh wajib untuk 1st year okay.. 2 untuk sem 1 and 2 lagi untuk sem 2.. dilemma yang aku dok canangkan dari tadi tu.. hmm. aku nak pilih yang mana nihhh... gggrrr... aku rasa macam nak ambil subject Bio.. tapi.. take a look at this..

based on jadual.. yang cun dengan kekosongan jadual cumanya Biology Cell.. tapi aku ada 2 pilihan la either nak ambil Mineralogi Asas or Biology Sel nih.. kalau amik bio, dah fit dengan jadual tanpa diubah lagi.. tapi kalau ambil Mineralogi.. maybe akan clash dengan kelas lain pada sebelah petang.. kalau nak buat gila.. aku amek je dua-dua HAHAHAHAHA!!!! okay.. tu memang gila.. kang tak tentu arah hidup aku sem depan -_-"

okay.. korang tahu kan yang exam semalam adalah paper-paper killer.. pagi paper Malaysia Dalam Dunia Berubah and petang pulak Geostatics.. actually aku pun confused dengan tittle dia.. either Geostatics or Geostatistics.. coz time exam dia tulis Geostatics.. kat portal dia tulis Geostatistics.. a bit confusing right??

habis jer paper-paper ni rasa macam dah habis for all exam.. kagum tak??? means that.. paper-paper ini mamberi effect yang sangat besar for my life.. so now.. meh aku cerita pengalaman pertama menjalani exam peringkat universiti.. nerveous ok.. orang lain dah masuk dewan tu dua tiga kali.. aku??? dah nak abis minggu exam minggu pertama lah :P baru merasa masuk dewan.. well said.. its totally different than exams during school and matrics' time

well.. the hall is some kind looks like this.. cuma ni dewan nombor berapa entah.. aku tak tahu.. dewan aku.. eh eh.. bila masa Aini ada dewan?? joking.. aku kat dewan 2 rupa lantai dia bukan macam ini ya.. normal hall.. yang ni nampak sangat court untuk game.. tapi besar dia sama kottt.. di Bangunan Peperiksaan baru.. seram gila masa mula-mula masuk.. lepas tu lagi cuak nak cari tempat.. okay.. part ni memang menunjukkan aku di mana memang aku JAKUN dengan dewan tu.. sebab.. kita boleh SUKA HATI pilih tempat duduk.. tapi dia dah tetapkan lah dari meja mana sampai meja mana.. tu memang 1st time tahu.. it's university life.. what can I say...

kalau korang baca entry-entry sebelum ni.. mesti korang tahu how worried am I about these two papers.. tapi asyik study paper petang jer masa study week.. well i'm not too good on it.. so must put some effort on it.. masalahnya effort sampai terlebih-lebih hingga melupakan paper pagi yang sepatutnya telah study lebih awal.. so malam last tu aku study lah.. eh.. tak.. baca untuk buat esei yang panjang lebar untuk paper pagi.. aku dah bajet pukul 3 adalah paling lambat time untuk tidur sebab i've learned lesson time final paper math kat matrik dulu tidur lambat esok pagi otak jammed time exam -_-"..

so here's the story.. my roommate whose a very... err.. we shall call it studiholic instead of workaholic.. kalau studaholic macam tak sedap je bunyinya... hahahhaha suka hati aku je buat word baru.. dia kalau study mesti minum Nescafe.. so malam tu entah kenapa aku pun termenggatal nak minum caffeine.. tapi aku minum Pearl Cafe sebab aku tak suka Nescafe.. so.. because of that.. i CAN'T SLEEP for the rest of that night! biasanya boleh jer tidoo.. >.<

guling sana.. guling sini..dah pukul 4.. takpe.. boleh lagi tidur 2 jam.. guling dan guling lagi.. dah pukul 5.. damn! tak boleh jadi nih.. aku pun call lah my best buddy pagi tuh.. dengan harapan supaya dia tak angkat.. rupanya dia terbangun jugak..

Nadia : Hang dok pikir sangat pasal exam tuuu.. tu yang tak leh tidooo...

Aini : Alaaa.. abis tu nak buat macamana niiiii....

Nadia : Hang gi lah baca notes sana.. daripada hang dok guling-guling takda wat pa.. kang esok tak leh jawap lak..

Aini : eh.. tak leh tak leh.. kena tido jugak.. kang jadi macam tahun lepas.. otak jammed.. tak mau tak mau..

lebih kurang macam tu lah dialog nya.. end up kata nak tido jugak no matter what happen.. last-last bangun.. bukak lampu study.. amik note.. baca sambil baring dengan harapan mata boleh mengantuk dan terus tidoooo.... hampir berkesan.. kalau baca note tulisan komputer lah.. tapi bila tiba tulisan aku yang cantik banyak sangat arrow.. terang balik mata aku.. dah sampai 5.30 a.m pun tak boleh tido lagi.. sampai alarm roomate aku matikan masa pukul 5.30 a.m tu.. nasib baik dia tido mati.. sorry >.< last-last lepas tu baru dapat lelap.. sedar 6.30 a.m.. ingat nak snooze sampai 6.45 a.m.. ah.. bangun je ah.. lambat pulak nanti kang.. nak revision sikit pun tak sempat nanti.. mandi dalam keadaan sakit hati.. hhmmpphh

sampai kat hall pukul 8.10 a.m..  aku, Liza, Nina and nazirah pergi naik kereta roomate Nazirah.. dia tolong hantarkan.. kalau tak boleh jer naik bas UM.. jammed gila jalan pagi tu.. almaklumlah.. jalan kat UM tu agak awam lah jugak sebab macam-macam orang luar aku nampak.. maybe sebab boleh jadi shortcut agaknya..

habis jer paper yang mana esei aku takdelah panjang sangat.. kitorang balik naik bas.. hoyeah!! kali ketiga naik bas UM.. 1st masa fieldwork kat Batu Caves and 2nd masa wakil kolej pergi Dataran Merdeka.. naik double decker VIP seyh!!! 1st time naik double decker tuh.. dan inilah yang kali ketiga.. naik bas yang kontot+cute pulak.. wewewewe

lepas makan, balik terus tido.. even mata tak mengantuk.. kena jugak tido.. dapat lah jugak tido dalam 1 jam walaupun senang tersedar.. aku rasa kesan caffeine tu kuat lagi.. lantak lah Geostat petang tu.. dah banyak sangat study sampai aku dah malas nak bukak lagi.. eh eh.. bukan.. untung-untung masa exam boleh ingat.. semua tu ketentuan Allah.. doa je lah banyak-banyak.. dan alhamdulillah.. walaupun tak ingat semua.. adalah jugak point yang boleh nak digorengkan.. semua tu kuasa Allah.. result berapa tu aku tak kisah.. asalkan lulus tu dah cukup buat aku.. aku tak nak repeat!!!!

habis jer paper pukul 5 tuh.. what a FREEDOMMM!!!! hoyeah!!! lepas beli tiket aku nak balik rumah esok.. aku terus call best buddy yang mana banyak gila bagi semangat time aku down.. thanks Nadia ^_^.. so aku pun bagi tahu lah yang aku beli tiket esok pukul 8 malam.. coz kitorang nak pergi somewhere-only-we-knows to go.. then tetiba masuk cerita aku call dia pagi tadi tuh.. dia boleh cakap..

"ku tengok call history.. pagi tadi ada call eah.. sorry ku tido tak sedar.."

aku pun hape lagi.. gelak punya lah dahsyat yang rupanya aku bercakap dengan orang yang tengah bermimpi pagi tadi.. then aku pun cerita balik a bit nasihat yang dia boleh bagi time mamai-mamai tu.. awal-awal call je dia sedar.. bila sampai tengah-tengah dah tak sedar rupanya.. alkisah~

petang tu Fara yang jugak my best buddy call coz birthday dia ya semalam.. HAPPY BIRTHADAY YE FARA!!! tengah hari ada jugak ada jugak dia call.. tapi aku jawap mamai lah.. macam nak tak nak je jawap.. dia pun terkejut bila aku cakap "petang nanti ada paper jugak lagi".. mana taknya.. roomate aku pun ingat aku study.. rupanya... membuta.. hehehe sorry yah.. tapi petang tu gayut lama jugak lah sampai ada something not-to-be-told berlaku.. malam tu aku terus semangat menyimpan semua nota-nota Malaysia Berubah dengan Geostat.. tapiii...

aku check student portal.. check timing untuk jadual sem 2 nanti.. and a very "GOOD" news guys.. my life will didn't get any better because it's gonna be so busy next semester..with a lot of collage project.. 2 je pun.. with credit hours to catch up sebab semester ni tak cukup.. well baru masuk.. mana nak tahu.. kelas start pukul 9 pagi kesemuanya.. habis pukul berapa tu tak tahu lagi.. unlike this semester yang aku rasa macam honeymoon.. kelas aku start pukul 11 a.m and 1 p.m.. paling cepat pun pukul 9 tapi tu pun hari Jumaat je.. hew hew hew.. tak jumpa lagi dah time-time macam nih.. by the way.. tak de lah aku asyik bangun lambat je.. eh.. kantoi..

so.. moral of the day is..

1) kat university boleh pilih tempat duduk

2) jangan minum caffeine pada malam exam

3) kena rajin bersihkan bilik even sesibuk mana pun (sebab aku dah batuk-batuk+bersin=demam sikit memanjang kat dalam bilik.. abang aku boleh pulak cakap kena URI.. sobsobs tak tahu?? meh klik SINI..)

Tension Of The Day

hello fellow stalkers

hari ini.. 14 Okt 2011.. (sekarang dah 15 hari bulan) antara hari yang paling aku tension sepanjang umur hidup kat UM ni... bukan sebab aku tapi sebab orang lain.. tension sebab kepentingan diri dia sendiri.. dan Aini yang baik hati ni *pitam diamkan je... bukan tidak mampu berbuat apa-apa.. tapi nak jaga hati.. diam je lah

nak dijadikan cerita kenapa lah hari ni tension... rasanya friends kat FB tau lah yang hari ni ada test Geostatistik yang aku rasa subject killer untuk aku sebab time matrik dulu aku condem bab-bab statistik ni.. mana tak nya... time kuliah aku selalu nampak burung melayang-layang hahhaha *kantoiiii

dah la pagi tadi kelam kabut pergi lab.. test pukul 9.. pukul 8.58 baru keluar bilik.. niaya lah tu namanya... nasib baik lar bila tiba tu belum start test lagi and belum masuk lab pun... overall aku rasa test untuk kali ni ok lar sebab macam cepat je aku buat part frequency distribution tu.. sampai Pak Islami cakap "power awak"... lebih kurang gitu lar.. sebabnye termaju sangat lah time jawap tu... seriously aku tak tahu beza dia perli ke puji hahhaha

lepas test, settle satu tension... ada sesi photoshoot.. time ni la baru aku tahu yang coursemate aku ni kaki kamera jugak hahhaha... ingatkan semua diam je bila nampak kamera.. sebabnya.. aku rasa yang berangan dengan handphone ada beberapa ketul je.. ok lah tu kan.. btw ramai kata time kitorang post... "eeee...chomell nyerrrr" hahhaa *munath hijau <-- dah typo

lepas tu baru lah pergi lunch.. lepas lunch la tahap kemuncak tension of the day.. haaaa... pasal appoiment tersebut lah fikiran aku melayang entah ke mana pun aku tak tahu sepanjang petang tadi... cakap tak serupa bikin pun ada... pentingkan diri sendiri.. kot ye nak sangat benda tu jangan la melampau sangat... helloo girl.. jaga la sikit adab tu.. dah nampak la belang sebenar kau dengan berbuat demikian..

nak apa-apa pun boleh cakap cara elok... main paksa-paksa macam tu sape pun tak nak.. lagi-lagi kalau orang yang hati tisu macam aku ni haaaa.... sentap kau tahu tak??? tak semua orang sama macam diri kau.. so jangan expect aku nak buat benda yang sama macam yang kau buat... cara pendekatan kena betul... kalau silap... memang melepas laaaa

sudah laa kau ceramah punya lah lama..dalam keadaan sentap yang macam tu... ada benda yang lebih penting dari apa yang kau cakap tu aku kena buat... tak pasal aku lambat untuk pergi aktiviti palapes petang tadi... nasib baik trak lambat sampai... kalau aku kena tinggal tadi... memang kena maki la kau dalam hati... bikin wa panas jeeee!!! tu belum tambah ketensionan cuti mid yang kian menyikit dan tak beli tiket balik BP lagi untuk cuti mid semester time raya haki ni... <-- typo lagi raya haji laaaa aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!

ah.!!. fullstop untuk hal itu... makin berketurunan nanti jerawat aku yang cute ni bila aku asyik nak meletup je... btw.. jom layan gambar-gambar photoshoot kitorang bagi mengurangkan ketensionan aku...

Dari UM ke Batu Pahat

Hello readers...

tetiba rasa nak story mory sikit based on my experience "dari UM ke Batu Pahat".. tengok tajuk lar... bagi mereka-mereka yang dah master dalam bab-bab LRT ni nak leave page pun tak kisah la... korang mesti dah bosan nak baca... ok... memandangkan semalam Hari Malaysia (Jumaat) so kebanyakan manusia-manusia yang baru sampai kat tempat belajar diorang semua nak balik pada hari Khamis.. yang dekat-dekat je lah... yang nun utara-utara tuh tak dapek den nak nolong nyeh... I'm out of list coz my mum yang suruh balik ::TDDMKA:: serious nih... tak tipu hahahaha

so.. biasalah bila rusa balik bandar.. dah la sorang-sorang... ya.. for your information.. SAYA BALIK SORANG-SORANG!!!!!  bangga kejap *pitam hohoho... kepada anda-anda semua jangan buat kerja gila... lebih-lebih lagi yang 1st time... make sure ada partner at least sorang kalau nak balik... kalau tak... lu pikir la sendiri..

kisahnya hari Isnin hari tu call la family.. yelar.. 1st class kan.. bajet nak habak mai "mak...dah nak masuk kelas niiii" lebih kurang gitu lah... coiii!!!! tup-tup je... "dik, Jumaat ni cuti..." dengar time tu cool je la coz malas pun nak balik masa tu... TAPIIIII bila call my mum... "balik lar...ada benda nak beli ni..." peh... dengki je... hhahahha

tengah hari tu terus lah beli tiket bas kat UC Travel di Perdana Siswa... tahu tempat tu pun sebab jalan-jalan cari pasal masa hari Ahad.. beli tiket pukul 8 malam hari Khamis and balik ke KL hari Ahad pukul 3 petang.. so bagi student-student UM yang tak tahu tuh... boleh beli tiket awal-awal kat UC Travel ok... tiket flight pun ada... kat tingkat atas Pekan Buku (1st Floor)... depan Pos Malaysia..

of course lah nak yang second choice.. easier kan... tapi... terpaksa melalui 1st choice sebab dah sampai ke LRT Universiti... sebenarnya boleh je pergi mid valley dari situ, tapi tak tahu kan.. baru 1st week kat sini :p nasib baik lah ada sorang akak senior tapi 1st time ke LRT universiti naik bas.. biasanya dia jalan kaki je... so ada lah geng nak tanya-tanya... dia stop kat KL Sentral.. 2 stesyen before sampai Masjid Jamek... ecece... Aini dah hafal lah...

tetiba pelik kenapalah gelap je... rupanya bawah tanah daaaa... coiii!!!!

Sampai je kat Masjid Jamek.. cuak kejap.. ah.. follow je lah orang depan... then tanya kat polis bantuan.. tu je orang yang boleh dipercayai... dia suruh beratur beli tiket... bapak ah panjang gila line... jam dah pukul 7.. sempat ke tak nih.. tinggal nak ke TBS je lah masalahnye.. so kurang sikit cuaknye... sudahnya.. settle beli tiket.. naik ke atas.. again... nak naik tangga yang mana nih???? kesian polis-polis bantuan jugak tempat bertanya... terima kasih encik polis (^_^) tiba kat atas.. apasal ada ke Ampang/Sri Petaling?? nasib baik akak tu cakap dengan detail.. nak ke TBS naik LRT lepas ni sebab yang sekarang nak ke Ampang... Nak ke TBS guna LRT ke Sri Petaling...

lama jugak dalam LRT tu... dah la ramai... tiba kat Bandar Tasek Selatan dalam pukul 7.45 gitu.. keluar je.. lega dah bila nampak 'Terminal Bersepadu Selatan'... mati-mati ingat TBS tu 'Terminal Bas Selatan'  @ 'Bandar Tasek Selatan' yang diterbalikkan je shortform dia... huh!!

macam ni lah... bezanya night view je lah...

maju seyh!!!! jakun kejap... tengok jam... 7.50.. sempat sesat kejap tuh... hehehe... masuk-masuk memang dah rupa macam airport... aduh... mana nak pergi ni... tengok sign... departure... bedal saja... nampak ada orang hulur tiket transnasional... pergi kat tempat tu.. then orang tu cakap... pergi kat laluan 17-19... cis... dah nak pukul 8 nih... nampak 7eleven.. ingat nak beli mineral je.. line dia bapak punya lah panjang.. cancel lah.. terus je ikut exit yang orang tu cakap tadi... 7.55++ terus naik bas... kang kena tinggal mampossss... sekali gerak pukul 8.10 daaaa... tau tadi beli je air... takde lah kehausan sepanjang jalan... sampai kat BP pukul 11.15 malam.. my bro dah tunggu... sampai rumah pukul 1.15 pagi sebab pergi makan dinner+supper... lama gila kan makan... lama sebab excited bebel cerita sepanjang jalan hahhaha

sebelum balik masa hari Khamis tu... ada jugak nampak akak-akak yang sekampung nak balik kampung.. dulu satu sekolah... sekolah rendah la.. tapi dia lepasan STPM... masa berselisih tu... senyum besar lah kan.. tup-tup je dia senyum dengan budak sebelah la... yelar.. siapa lah saya kan... sedih tau bila kenal tapi buat-buat tak nampak pulak.. saya senyum siap lambai ok... kalau tak nampak jugak tak tau lah nak kata apa... sentap jugak lah kejap... tapi bila fikir balik... tergelak kejap sebab cuti 2 hari je pun... tolak hari Ahad sebab dah otw balik KL... tapi balik bawak luggage size 1st time datang UM.. saya balik ni cuma bawak baju sepasang+lappy and guna beg galas belakang je... simple kan... senang nak lari... sememangnya matrik mengajar erti kehidupan... sebab dulu pun buat macam tuh... even balik hujung minggu je... hahahaha kantoiii

so sekarang kena get ready coz esok akan bermula sekali lagi journey yang sama... get prepare apa-apa yang patut sebelum terkebulur macam hari tu... mula nak naikkan muscle kaki... kang terkejut beruk sebab kena jalan jauh... bajet-bajet sampai kat TBS dekat-dekat pukul 7 rasanya.. sampai Kolej Tuanku Kurshiah??? pukul 9??? masak... Assalamualaikum semua...

mengumumkan... saya... Aini a.k.a Annie sekarang sedang beronline guna wifi kt UM ni!!! superb ah!! gila dekat dengan bilik reuternyaaaaa... dengan kelajuan 1GB.. ok.. kat rumah cuma 500.. tak payah susah-susah pikir nak pakai berukband.. nasib baik tak beli lagi..

saya telah selesai menjalani Minggu Haluan Siswa UM yang sungguh... BEST LAAAAHHHHH!!!! terutama cheers diaaaa... siot je akak ipar aku tak habak mai pasal hal ni!!! boleh tak tertanya-tanya kenapa la tetiba je sakit tekak.. batuk-batuk... selsema... hingus meleleh-leleh... sebab gembeng ke??? pun dah tak dapat beza.. cis!

lapor diri 4 Sept hari tu.. Raya lagi ok!!! sampai la 9 Sept minggu orentasi berlangsung... yang juga merupakan minggu yang bacin-bacin seduniaaaaa kahkahkah... hari ni melepaskan penat lelah errr lelah la sangat... setelah selesai memantapkan urat-urat otot-otot tulang.. semua perkara perlu dilakukan dengan pantas... yang paling best... memang terlompat-lompat je la minggu ni... pusing-pusing sampai lebam hahahaha... mengerah anak tekak untuk mengalahkan speaker kat DTC tu.. sampai sekarang dah rasa pekak semacam... oppsss turun saham

ADEA1111 ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES IN GEOGRAPHY

This course discusses the following topics:

ADEA1112 PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY: PROCESSES AND FORMS

This course introduces the students to systems approach forms and processes in physical geography. The main components of the physical world which will be analyzed include the atmosphere, the biosphere, the hydrosphere and the lithosphere. The course will also touch on the effects, whether intended or otherwise, of human interactions on the physical world.

ADEA1113 HUMAN GEOGRAPHY - PATTERNS AND PROCESS

The course focuses on the definition and scope of human geography. The various aspects of human geography shall be examined especially in terms of the basic concepts and theories postulated in relation to the aspects. The application of the concepts and theories to real world situations would also be highlighted to the students.

ADEA1114 MALAYSIA IN A CHANGING WORLD

The course will examine the changes in the characteristics and patterns of physical and human geography in Malaysia. Focus shall also be given to the relationship and the influence of the physical and human geography on the development issues faced in the country. Finally these issues shall be compared to global situations.

ADEA2102 LOCATIONAL AND SPATIAL ANALYSIS

This course will emphasize on the importance of locational analysis and spatial organization as a central tenet in the study of human geography. This course will go on to examine selected basic theories and theoretical concepts related to location and spatial processes. In the concluding section, the course will discuss the need for adaption and adjustments of these principles to fit the real world context.

ADEA2107 GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The course introduces students to Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and its basic principles and methodologies. It emphasises database development which comprises map scanning, georeferencing, map digitisation and data entry. The course also focuses on data and map manipulation using GIS software and the information technology.

ADEA2108 SYSTEMS APPROACH IN PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

This course discusses the use of systems analysis to understand how PGS functions in its natural state and how human activities could affect the natural equilibrium. The course is divided into TWO parts. Part 1 describes the fundamental concepts in systems analysis including, definitions, system properties, energy and matter, interrelationships, dynamic equilibrium, steady states, entropy, feedback mechanisms, systems thresholds etc. Part 2 applies these fundamental concepts to PGS at different scales of spatial resolution. These include the Earth-Atmospheric System, Regional Vegetation System, River Basin Systems, Coastal Systems and Coastal Systems. Part 2 also discusses how human activities disrupt systems behaviour resulting in disequilibrium conditions which usually manifests them with occurrence of environmental degradation.

ADEA2109 HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION IN THE FIELD

The course will provide an opportunity to the students to use and test the principles and theories taught in the classroom. The course will also introduce students to real situations on how to conduct survey in the form of research and case study by bringing out students to the selected study areas base on research themes that have been determined. The course will expose students to fieldwork research techniques that could be applied such as questionnaire survey, interview, use of measuring equipment such as GPS and maps. Through questionnaires and interviews, students will gain confidence and skills in communicating with the public. Further on, in order to increase the knowledge regarding the research issues, briefings by officers from government bodies and non government bodies will add to their knowledge of the issues studied. Therefore, with the explanation and briefing given will also expose to students to the various fields of job opportunities that can be explored later.

ADEA2123 QUANTITATIVE METHOD IN GEOGRAPHY

The course introduces students the quantitative method and the suitability to apply it with human, physical and environment phenomenon. Various basic quantitative method were applied by geographer and other discipline will be discuss for example Chi Square, Yule’s Q, T Test, Correlation, Regression as well as Nearest Neighbours Analysis.

ADEA2304 TRANSPORT GEOGRAPHY

This course introduce student a basic transport study from the spatial context. Transport study is a basic to the geography knowledge cause transport factor is very important to influence different space and other socio-economic activity. The system and holistic approach will be used to understand how basic component in transport system is reacting among it.

ADEA2306 TROPICAL HYDROLOGY

The course will be an introduction on the field of hydrology and hydrological cycle and the processes in the hydrological cycle. Aspects discussed include evaporation, precipitation, interception, infiltration, runoff, ground water, underground water and water movement in slopes, especially in relation to Horton’s and Hewlett hypotheses. Students will also be exposed to the hydrological equation and the effects of land use changes to the hydrological balance in the tropics. Students will also be exposed to the analysis hydrological parameters. Extreme events such droughts and floods will also be discussed.

ADEA2309 ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY

The course will study the spatial distribution of economic activities, that is, production, distribution and consumption. Emphasis will be given to the factors which have determined the location and distribution of economic activities as well as the spatial and temporal changes that have taken place, Principles and models and their relevance will be discussed. Other topics of discussion include current world issues such as international trade, the globalization process and resource depletion.

ADEA2316 POPULATION GEOGRAPHY AND DEMOGRAPHY

The course will introduce students to the study of demography and population geography. It will focus on factors that have caused spatial differences in fertility, mortality and the distribution of population as well as government measures to influence population trends. Other topics discussed include population theories and whether such theories are still relevant today.

ADEA2321 TECHNIQUES IN SOCIAL IMPACT ANALYSIS

The objective of this course is to expose students to SIA research design and types of social, culture and economic data. How to conduct fieldwork by using sampling technique, questionnaire survey, interview and data limitations. Also will be discussed exploration data technique, computer technique and research analysis presentation.

ADEA2324 INTERPRETATION OF AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH AND REMOTE SENSING

This is a preamble course to remote sensing; it includes the history of the development of remote sensing from the beginning and to date technology. Students will be initiated to the understanding of technical principal of remote sensing as well as interpreting earth surface elements from aerial photograph and satellite imagery using visual interpretation technique and a few of computer processing techniques.

ADEA2325 GEOMORPHOLOGY

The thrust of this course is to understand how geomorphological systems functions. The course discusses within a systems approach perspective the relationships between energy, shear stress forces, resistances and responses of geomorphological systems. These relationships are discussed using the drainage basin and coastal systems as fundamental examples of geomorphological systems. These systems are also most affected by human activities and in many cases exhibits the occurrence of many examples of environmental hazards and disasters.

ADEA2326 CLIMATOLOGY

The course will discuss the climate system as an entity where its various components - atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere - interact with one another. In addition, it will focus on the earth’s energy balance, general atmospheric and ocean circulation as well as the weather and climate of tropical and non-tropical areas. Students will be exposed to weather and climatic systems such as monsoons, hurricanes, cyclones and others. The issue of climate change will also be discussed.

ADEA2327 SOCIAL GEOGRAPHY

The course exposes students to social geography, which is a branch of knowledge and a set of practices used by geographers to examine and attempt to understand the social world. It is one of the main sub-disciplines in geography. The course will study the relation between humans and the place and space they create and roam in their daily lives. The course will also study the differences in human groups that often cause conflicts. The main bases used to study the differences are class, gender, ethnicity and religion. By following the course, students will be capable of applying geographic methods to understand social phenomena and working in a group to conduct a social study of their own.

ADEA2329 GEOGRAPHY OF RURAL SETTLEMENT

The course intends to examine policy and strategy of rural settlement, critical aspect in rural settlement as well as settlement planning in agriculture area and countryside. Typology, function, history and problem in rural settlement will be discuses. The theory of settlement is a base of this course.

ADEA3107 APPLICATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The course intends to acquaint the aspects of application, planning and design, as well as the management of a Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Emphasis is given to the implementation of a GIS application in various fields based on case studies. The course also focuses on the methods in designing a GIS application and the issues and strategies involved in GIS implementation.

ADEA3108 SOUTHEAST ASIA IN TRANSFORMATION

This course will identify explain and discuss all aspects of Southeast Asian geography. In-depth discussions would also be focussed on the suitability of definitions regarding what is Mainland, Peninsular and Insular Southeast Asia. This course would also discuss issues and challenges common to the countries of Southeast Asia.

ADEA3109 COLLOQUIUM ON GLOBAL ISSUES - A GEOGRAPHICAL PERSPECTIVE

This course discusses the emerging importance and significance of global issues as it affects the global populace. These issues can be categorized in many ways and include that which affects the global environment and societal wellbeing, global economics, global politics, global mobility of ideas and people, degradation and contraction of resources, and many others. These issues have a geographical dimension in terms of their occurrence and behaviour and are usually trans-boundary in nature, cutting across nations and regions and in most cases resulting in tensions and conflicts. Conflict resolution is a major process in managing global issues which are usually discussed and agreed through multilateral agreements and treaties. The aim of this course is to primarily expose the students to various scenarios of global issues that are affecting societies, their geographical dimensions and the importance and significance that geography as a discipline can contribute to better understand the issues.

ADEA3304 URBAN PLANNING AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The course focuses both urban planning and regional development. The focus of the course would be theories, concepts as well as of the practices of the field in the various development context. Case studies based on various countries would form a basis of the assessment of effectiveness of regional development program.

ADEA3307 URBAN GEOGRAPHY

This course will identify the process, the level and factors of urbanization. Discussion will focus on topics such as squatter housing, dilemmas of urbanisation, transportation, historical perspective, urbanisation and globalisation paradigms and urban poverty. Concepts to be discussed include peri-urbanisation, Extended Metropolitan Regions (EMR), super induce development, reginopolis, driver of urbanisation and informal sectors.

ADEA3312 ADVANCED REMOTE SENSING

This course will look in particular the computer processing of satellite imageries. The intensity will be given to the processing and analysing of digital data with software equipped in the department. Focus is immense on the application of satellite imageries in several applications such as mapping, land use, agriculture and urbanisation, climate, environmental monitoring as well as natural disaster.

ADEA3320 POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY

This course reviews the main theories and concepts underpinning political geography. By adopting spatial perspectives it will introduce a variety of theories and relates it to the processes of social and geographical change. Then, this course will concentrate on the formation of the states: the background, the system, its relationship with the other states and the challenges faced by the state in the ‘borderless world’ and ‘globalization’ process.

ADEA3322 GEOGRAPHY OF TOURISM

The course will study the spatial and temporal development of the tourism industry from various aspects. Emphasis will be given tourist motivations and typologies and the economic, social and environmental impacts related to tourism development. The development and role of the tourism industry in Malaysia will also be studied. The discussion will also focus on various issues and questions related to tourism development such as pollution, leakages and social degradation.

ADEA3326 ADVANCED GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The course further exposes students to Geographic Information Systems, highlighting the analyses available in GIS. The course will focus on vector analysis and raster analysis using GIS software. Apart from these, the course will also include the aspects of designing a spatial decision support system in GIS data modelling.

ADEA3327 SELECTED REGIONS

The course seeks to use the concepts of region, regionalism and regionalisation to explain the unique geographical, historical, economic and geopolitical characteristics of Africa, its regions and interactions with the world. To that end, topics covered include: region, regionalism and regionalisation; geomorphologic units/land forms of Africa; climatic factors and climate change as well as impacts; mineral resources and economies of Africa; colonisation in Africa, Berlin conference of 1884-1885 and the partition of Africa, geopolitics of the Nile River Basin; regional economic groupings in Africa; Africa and globalisation.

ADEA3328 ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER GEOGRAPHY

This course begins with a discussion on the deference between environmental hazard, risk and disaster. The course examines how environment hazard and disaster can be classified and how each hazard/disaster types occur and behave. The course also explains the concept of human vulnerability to hazard threat and disaster and the importance of hazard management in avoiding disaster. The concept advocates the need for hazard management in the implementation of national policies on environment management.

ADEA3332 URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHEASTASIA

This course seeks to use theories and models to explain the forms, processes and patterns of urban development in Southeast Asia. Key urban policy areas that underlie urban development as well as engines of urban growth and competitive advantage will be discussed. The course will analyse development gaps in Southeast Asia and explain why some counties in the region are more developed than others. In the light the United Nations’ millennium development goals, the course seeks to examine the status and progress of Southeast Asia urban areas in meeting the millennium development goals. A major essence of the course is to explain the planning and practices of sustainable urban development. With the assistance of a supervisor, students will be trained to plan, collect and arrange information scientifically and thus present it in the form of an academic thesis of high quality using techniques appropriate to an undergraduate.

The course intends to expose the students to geography industry as means of preparing them for the working world. Students will receive practical experience from both the public and private sector. The industrial experience is expected to motivate, give them the opportunity to extend their theoretical knowledge to practice, enhance their professionalism and employability potential.
